Few flowers fill a design like a hydrangea. One stem does the work of a handful, which is why hydrangeas anchor everything from supermarket bouquets to high-end event work. The trade-off is that they are demanding — thirsty in post-harvest, and unforgiving if grading is sloppy.

Graded on measured heads, not estimates

Every stem should be graded by head diameter into Select, Super Select and Jumbo — measured, not eyeballed. Uniformity inside the box is the single thing hydrangea buyers notice first, because bouquet lines and retail programs depend on every stem behaving the same way. A box that mixes grades quietly breaks a recipe.

Colour is a craft

Hydrangea colour depends on variety, soil chemistry and cutting point. Partner farms manage beds individually to deliver stable, repeatable tones — so the blue you order in March is the blue you receive in October. Antique tones — the muted greens, burgundies and dusty pinks designers ask for — are strongest from late summer into autumn.

Hydration is not optional

Stems are cut into hydration solution in the field, re-cut and re-hydrated at the packhouse, and shipped with individual water vials or gel caps on request. With hydrangeas, hydration discipline is the difference between a showpiece and a disappointment.
